Yonsei International Summer School
Yonsei International Summer School (YISS) opened its doors in 1985 and since then, YISS has become an integral part of campus life based on a unique blend of Korean and global cultures. YISS continues to grow and evolve, accommodating the needs of a rapidly changing student body and meeting the challenges of a fast-paced global society.
We provide a dynamic education in a broad range of fields both for students who are familiar with Korea and those who have never traveled to this part of the world. What makes our program truly international is the diversity of our student body, made up of young scholars from all walks of life and from many corners of the world. Thousands of students have left our 30 year-old program with enhanced knowledge, new perspectives, and unique experiences.
We offer a broad range of courses in seven general areas and multiple disciplines. Most members of our summer faculty come from universities around the world bringing with them unique teaching styles and perspectives on education. For courses taken at YISS, credits are fully transferable to students’ home institutions. Excluding Korean language courses, all courses are conducted in English and taught at the undergraduate level. We also have internship program, allowing YISS students to work at various corporations and research labs in Seoul gaining hands on experience while at the same time earning course credits.
